Ichiwelamushi 2025

On Saturday 11 October, North Swaka Trust sponsored and participated in the 2025 Ichiwelamushi Cultural Ceremony held in Chalata, Mkushi. Ichiwelamushi is a harvest and thanksgiving ceremony. It’s a great opportunity to support Mkushi’s traditional leadership, engage with the local community and share new conservation ideas such as NST’s fuel-efficient Swaka Stove. Special congratulations go to Mrs. Helen Shimonta who scored 100% on NST’s forest quiz on the day winning a jar of delicious community-sourced NST honey. Thank you to all the organisers of the event.
